The book of Numbers not only records the Israelites' constant whining, but it also reveals how Moses and God responded. Moses (and Aaron) typically responded with prayer, often falling facedown (cf. 14:5; 16:4, 22; 45; 20:6). God often expressed anger at his people, at one point becoming "exceedingly angry" (11:10). Along with his anger, God sent some kind of punishment (cf. 11:1, 33; 12: 10-15; 14:27-35; 16:31-35; 20:12; 21:6).
